About Us
It all began with the divine plan that the Marings would have their churches united under the umbrella of the Maring Naga Baptist Association (MNBA). In order to let His plan and decree come to pass, He kindled the fire of passion of sowing the seed of the Gospel to the strangers of it in the fertile Maring areas. He touched the heart of one Tangkhul evangelist named K. Ontim (Gopal) of Nambashi village. God called him out of his village and family and then sent him to the serene and picturesque (yet strange to the living God) hill village to share the Gospel for the first time ever in Maring areas.
M. Pekhong was born to M. Monarshok and Pikhungaknu in 1917 at Saibol Village. He married M. Tolinu and together they had two children–M. Moses (son) and M. Chiyanglimmi (daughter). He completed Class I. He converted to Christianity in 1943, and was baptized by Rev. T. Limjalet Chongthu, a Kuki evangelist from Khoikai Village, Ukhrul District, Manipur, on December 15, 1945 at Sabulwa River.
Kh. Angpham Charanga was born in 1913 at the erstwhile Lamalbung (Uyaching), now known as Phunal Sambum Village, in the western side of the Maringland near Kakching Town. He was the son of (L) Kh. Mengam Charanga and (L) Kh. Tohang Charanga. He completed Class II at Kangpokpi Mission School in 1936. He converted to Christianity in 1935 and was baptized by R. Thoma Moyon, a Moyon evangelist from Komlathabi Baptist Church on August 9, 1945. His conversion to Christianity was greatly opposed by his own village leaders and others. He was even expelled from his village settlement to a hilltop known as Terapokpi with his wife and eldest son. He was persecuted due to adhering to his new-found faith in Jesus Christ. He was instrumental in bringing his people to the faith he adhered to. Due to his patience and longsuffering in the midst of storms of life.
We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man, consisting of sixty-six books (of the Old Testament and the New Testament), inspired equally in all parts (Prov.30:5; Matt. 4:4; 2 Tim.3:16) and in every word (Matt. 5:18; 2 Tim.3:16-17), absolutely inerrant in the original documents (Jn.17:17), and is thus infallible in all of its teachings (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21), as it is the product of pirit-controlled men (2 Pet. 1:19-21).
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are determined by God in the eternity past to be included in the Canon of Scripture (Lk. 24:44; Rev. 22:18-19); that they are the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions, shall be tried (Jude 1:3).
We believe that, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, the Bible should be interpreted according to its literal, historical and grammatical context.
